Comparing Quantities with More, Less, and Fewer

We use more, less and fewer to compare quantities of things in the future to quantities in the present.
 
We use more and fewer with countable nouns to compare quantities of things we can count,
e.g. There will be fewer roads in the future.
 
We use more and less for uncountable nouns to compare quantities of things we cannot count,
e.g. There will be less drinking water in the futre.
